"Summer meeting of the Forum of Croatian Astronomers 2007" is organized by Croatian astronomers, from Croatia and abroad, acting through the society znanost.org. Coorganizer of the meeting is the Physics Department of University of Split. The main purpose of this year's meeting is to gather astrophysicists from Croatia and abroad, and to decide about the future developments and activities.

Last year's meeting of the Forum of Croatian Astronomers was very successful in discussing the organization of the study of astrophysics in Split, and has successfully laid foundation to the Astrophysics Initiative in Dalmatia (ApID). This year we aim to discuss the current status of ApID, discuss the possibilities for FP7 projects in Split and finish the detailed preparation for the start of teaching of astrophysics in the academic year 2008/2009. In more detail:
  1. In first part of this year's meeting we will be preparing a number of international educational and research activities in astrophysics whose foundations have been laid on last two meetings. In collaboration with the guest scientists from abrod we aim to quantify and discuss the most attractive and feasible projects and propose new ideas for astrophysical activities in Split. Furthermore, the current status of the implementation of the plan of ApID, status of FP7 applications related to ApID projects, and preparation and implementation of new education activities related to it.
  2. The second part of the meeting is devoted to scientific presentations. This is an important part of the meeting since it enables participants from a wide variety of fields to get an overview of the current status of Croatian astrophysics and the exchange of knowledge and expertise between scientists in Croatia and abroad, and to lay foundations for new collaborations.
